An Overview of AMN

The functions of AMN can be broadly grouped into internal and external perspectives.

Internal Perspective

Serve and equip the church for ministry and outreach

Two of the core businesses of AMN is its in-house print and media production units.

We produce resources such as -

  • books
  • brochures, flyers and posters
  • DVDs and TV programs
  • websites

We have skilled professionals trained and experienced in these areas to provide the church with expert advice, quality service and competitive prices.

AMN carries a large stock of products for personal spiritual growth and outreach resources which we supply through the Adventist Book Centres (ABCs). We supply both local and overseas products due to our good working relationship with our partner organisations overseas.

AMN also has a range of resources available for churches for their marketing and promotional needs such as:

  • brochures
  • church welcome kits
  • posters
  • balloons
  • lanyards
  • branded showbags

We also hold workshops to train church members in news writing, communication, marketing and web development.

Foster a sense of mission and belonging within the church

The church organisation is made up of many fragments. It is therefore vital that the churches and organisations are supported and connected to a wider church body.

One of the major functions of AMN is news collection and dissemination through:

  • The web - http://spd.adventistconnect.org
  • The weekly Record, the most read Adventist publication in the South Pacific
  • The Edge, a youth focused monthly newsletter

More recently the internet has become a major strength of AMN. We recognise its potential as a strong communication tool and and have developed the South Pacifc Web Network to foster Adventist community online.

External Perspective

Outreach to the wider community

AMN is instrumental in encouraging and inspiring people to have a personal relationship with Christ. Many of the products and services offered to the public are targeted to the secular community. They begin at teaching people to have a better quality life by emphasising health, relationships and values. As people’s interest heightens, they are drawn to more spiritual understandings.

Discovery Courses offer people a chance to learn about a wide range of topics either through a correspondence course or online. They also coordinate the video lending library which puts local churches in contact with people in their community.

Signs of the Times is the church’s long standing outreach lifestyle magazine. It gently gives people an awareness of spiritual values and the church.

Literature Evangelists work tirelessly in bringing a selection of quality Adventist literature to those in the community.

TV/DVD production has been a major outreach tool of the church in the South Pacific. Projects such as Search, Taking Charge of your Life, Chasing Utopia and The Code have given churches and individuals tools to reach the community. View all DVD titles.

Profiling and promoting the Seventh-day Adventist Church

It is important that the wider general public have a good understanding and positive image of the church.

The Public Relations arm of AMN is constantly identifying opportunities to increase the church’s profile in the media.

The Marketing department's strategies include research and coordinated multimedia advertising campaigns, improving the awareness and understanding of the church.
